Some of my photos are just obvious sights to behold. With these my goal is fully to convey what struck me about the scene. I also continuously keep an eye open for art in nature—an encounter or moment in the “real” world that feels like an already accomplished work of art. My Sands of Costa Rica and Self-portraits in a Gong series are in this vein, as are Tug, Pine Needle Bear and Woodland Reflection in this set.
